Bacillus amyloliquefaciens
Crops:
Rice, Sugarcane, Banana, Barley, Wheat, Oat, Cucumber, Tomato and other vegetables.
Salient Features:
- Silicon, the most abundant element, usually occurs in the unavailable forms of silicates of aluminium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium or iron.
- Plants assimilate silica as soluble monosilicic acid resulting in strengthening of cell wall through various mechanisms.
- Bacillus amyloliquifaeciens is a gram positive bacterium useful in the solubilization of silica.
- Strengthened cell wall due to higher accumulation of silicon is known to improve plant resistance to disease, insect attack and adverse climatic conditions in various crops like rice, sugarcane, cucumber, oat, barley and wheat.
Methods of Application:
Seed treatment:
Mix 200 ml of Bannari Silica Solubilizer with 200 ml rice gruel or 5% jaggery solution. Treat the seed materials required for an acre in the slurry, shade dry for 30 minutes and sow the seeds within 24 hrs.
Sett/seedling treatment:
Dip the sett/seedling required for an acre in the solution containing 1 litre of Bannari Silica Solubilizer with 100 litres of water for 10 minutes before planting.
Soil application:
Mix 2 litres of Bannari Silica Solubilizer per acre with 200 kgs of well decomposed farm yard manure or biocompost and apply to the field.
Drip irrigation:
Apply 2 litres of Bannari Silica Solubilizer per acre.
